8th Construction Blockchain Conference

Welcome to CBC2026: Enduring Challenges: Disruptive Technologies Driving Transformational Changes within the Built Environment, the eighth annual Construction Blockchain Conference, taking place on 5–6 November 2026 as a hybrid event from London.

The built environment is entering a period of unprecedented technological change. Artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital twins, smart contracts, robotics, digital identity, the Internet of Things and quantum technologies are rapidly transforming how assets are designed, constructed, operated and governed. Yet many of the industry's most fundamental challenges remain remarkably persistent, including fragmented information, contractual complexity, productivity, trust, sustainability, regulation, cybersecurity and skills.

CBC2026 explores how disruptive digital technologies can address these enduring challenges while creating new opportunities for collaboration, resilience and innovation across the entire asset lifecycle. Bringing together leading researchers, practitioners, policymakers and technology innovators, the conference provides an international forum for discussing the technologies that will shape the next generation of the built environment.

Across two days of keynote presentations, technical sessions, industry case studies and panel discussions, delegates will examine both the opportunities and the practical realities of digital transformation, separating genuine innovation from technological hype.

Conference Key Information

Researchers, practitioners, policymakers and technology providers are invited to submit research papers, technical presentations, industry case studies and critical perspectives addressing disruptive technologies and transformational change within the built environment.

CBC2026 will be delivered as a hybrid conference, enabling delegates to participate in person in London or remotely. Registered participants will receive access to the relevant conference sessions, programme materials and supporting resources.

The Construction Blockchain Consortium (CBC) advances knowledge and innovation by fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers. It provides a platform for sharing research and best practices, supports commercial and academic presentations, evaluates emerging services, and contributes to shaping regulation in blockchain and related technologies for the built environment.

Led by UCL's Department of Computer Science and The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, the CBC develops open-source solutions, encourages proprietary innovation, and drives sustainable construction practices through digital transformation.
