About Niall
Niall is Head of Distributed Systems Engineering at Mishcon de Reya LLP and specialises in Data Science and Distributed Ledger Technologies across sectors including legal, construction, real estate and supply chains. He is as a software engineer and has experience in CTO and advisory roles, developing web, mobile and distributed applications, and most recently, 5G, IoT, Blockchain and Data Science solutions.
At Mishcon, his main focus is implementing solutions at the intersection of Distributed Systems solutions and Machine Learning. Niall worked on the first proof-of-concept property transaction using DLT with the UK Land Registry. He is currently driving innovation in Real Estate legal contract automation for the Accord Project, an open source Legal Smart Contract project.

Ethereum/Solidity Smart Contracts
Dr Theo Dounas will lead a virtual workshop on Ethereum/Solidity Smart Contracts on the first day of CBC2020. The workshop will be run via a series of pre-recorded lessons released on the day, with Theo on hand at all times to answer any questions. He will then lead the final session live via Zoom.

About Theo
Dr Theo Dounas is an architect and the learning excellence leader at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment at Robert Gordon University where he directs the MSc in Advanced Architectural Design and orchestrates the school’s efforts in digitization. His research expertise encompasses blockchain, generative and parametric systems with a tight orchestration between design and fabrication.
He is currently directing “archchain”, a project that seeks to establish decentralised Building Information Modelling toolset and mechanisms for the AEC industry, while ongoing research in fabrication includes a series of projects in robotic fabrication of timber components for buildings. He is active in architectural design through his office Adventurous Architecture.
Dounas holds an engineering doctorate and architecture engineering diploma, both from Aristoteles University in Thessaloniki, Greece. His architectural design work and research have received numerous awards and funding in Asia and Europe. He is a founding member, former head, and honorary research fellow of the Department of Architecture at Xian Jiaotong Liverpool University, in Suzhou, China.
