Annual Symposium 2019
The CBC is pleased to announce its first International Symposium titled Digital Trust in the Built Environment. Held in collaboration with the Scientific and Technical Centre for Building (CSTB) in Paris, the symposium will bring together leaders in the field of BIM, Distributed Ledgers, Semantic Web and the Internet of Things (IOT) to ask:
“How can we make blockchain work to transform the production and operation of Smart Environments?”
The symposium will be themed according to the CBC’s workstreams:
Legal and Financing;
Design, Construction and Safety Processes;
Operations and Building Services; and
Culture, Compliance and Policy.
The CBC will be presenting its progress on its white papers in each of these areas and invite discussion with experts from across industry and academia.
The conference will be held at the CSTB’s headquarters in Paris on 6th and 7th June 2019. More information will be available shortly.
The CBC's Seminars are strategic, tailored events dealing with topical themes and challenges in the construction industry. The series explores the potential disruption and applications of DLT and blockchain in the built environment. The events bring together leading industry and academic practitioners of the field to share and debate new knowledge.
The CBC’s Meetups are informal events for professionals across AEC sectors, whether developers, entrepreneurs, investors or company and startup representatives. They are an excellent opportunity to discuss developments in blockchain technology and network.
The CBC's Hackathons are strategic, tailored events to develop open source DLT & Blockchain solutions for the AEC Industry. The collaborative effort is open to many technologies and aims to grow the CBC open source projects. We bring together leading technologists, industry experts, and academic practitioners to investigate the potential disruption and practical application of emerging technologies and actively develop new digital tools for the built environment.
The CBC Strategic Business Network leverage new business in connection to DLT and Blockchain technologies. We bring together CBC Strategic Partners, entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders to investigate the commercial opportunities of emerging technologies in the construction sector.
ABOUT THE CBC EVENTS
The Construction Blockchain Consortium was established to develop knowledge transfer, arrange commercial and academic presentations, assess and test commercial services and technology, conduct research, and drive policy, regulation and understanding of the consequences of Blockchain and other emerging technologies in the Built Environment. The CBC is led by the UCL Department of Computer Science and The UCL Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment. We also investigate the development of open source tools on behalf of the industry and encourage application developers to build proprietary technology and services to deliver sustainable construction solutions.
